Chelsea and Manchester United will have to pay at least £70m if they want to sign Leicester defender Wesley Fofana, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs.
The journalist claims both Thomas Tuchel’s side and the Red Devils are currently pursuing other centre-back targets as they have been put off by the Frenchman’s price tag:
Fofana has been linked with both Chelsea and Manchester United. He’s said in the past that playing for either would be “a dream”. Nothing more than interest at this point and very much focused on future windows. It remains unlikely Fofana is sold this summer.

Fofana is someone who is well-liked by the recruitment staff at Stamford Bridge and the player has also previously listed both Chelsea and United among the teams he wants to play for.
However, as Jacobs points out, manager Thomas Tuchel and chairman Todd Boehly are currently looking at alternatives. Juventus’s Matthijs de Ligt is reportedly the top priority, although there has been no breakthrough in negotiations for the Dutchman so far.
Manchester City’s Nathan Ake is another option, although it is not known whether the Premier League champions would sanction the Dutchman’s move to London, in addition to Raheem Sterling.
