Jay Dasilva Opens Up On Where He’ll Be Playing His Football Next Season

Chelsea left-back Jay Dasilva says he doesn’t know where he will be playing his football next season.

Bristol City’s chief executive Mark Ashton has confirmed the Robins have a purchase option in the fullback’s loan deal, but the final decision will be down to the player.

When asked about his plans following the European Under 21 Championships in Italy, Dasilva replied:

“Nothing at the moment, I’m just concentrating on this tournament and getting the job done, and then we will go from there.”

“I’m always pretty confident building up to any game and when it is a big tournament like this, I’m relishing the opportunity to show what I can do. It is a good platform to show what I can do.”

As things stand, the Blues do not require another left-back with both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri currently in the squad.

Emerson has stated in recent days he’s happy to stay at Stamford Bridge, but Alonso’s future is far less certain. The Spaniard has hinted at a potential exit with Atletico Madrid reportedly interested.

With Kenedy also returning from a loan spell at Newcastle,  Chelsea do have a number of options at their disposal. Much may depend on the new manager.

If Frank Lampard does take charge, he may well have a different opinion on Dasilva and may want to keep him. The 21-year-old is currently first choice for England at Under 21 level.
