Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour did not feature for the Under 21s in their 1-0 win against Plymouth Argyle last night, and many are anticipating that the 18-year-old will be named in the matchday squad for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash against Manchester United.
The Scottish Under 21 international was one of the standout performers in the 7-1 win over Grimsby in the last round of the competition, and some fans on Twitter think the teenager should be given his chance at Stamford Bridge this evening:
It's a no brainer for me

Gilmour does have an excellent chance of starting. Ross Barkley is struggling to overcome an ankle problem, while N’Golo Kante is also missing due to a groin injury. Manager Frank Lampard will be hesitant to start both Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic once again so there is room for another midfielder.
The Blues boss is not afraid of putting youngsters in, as we have already seen this season, and Gilmour is certainly a primary candidate to make his third senior appearance tonight.
