Pictures of Chelsea’s home shirt for the 2022/23 season have leaked out online and supporters are not too impressed with what they have seen.
It does appear as though that Nike are going for a more back to basics design in terms of a plain royal blue, but the inclusion of the patterned collar and buttons have not been well received.
Most fans on Twitter are disappointed with Nike’s latest attempt, with many questioning the choices that the manufacturer has made for kits over the past few seasons:
I'm def not buying this ๐

Nike must really hate us. Not one good home kit in 5 years

Can't wait for Chelsea to be done with Nike. Not one good kit so far. That big ugly 3 doesn't help either ๐ญ

That kit is horrible , looks out of shape the collar looks weird , the button doesnโt suit it and itโs way to plain . This years is way better

Nothing stops these dudes from designing a good kit, but they just always mess up with the home kit.

Nike have certainly not ingratiated themselves to supporters with their home shirts since they took over from Adidas in 2017. An obsession with including patterns or new colours have made their home shirts very hard to like and this latest one seems to be just as divisive.
Whether the design will change at all between now and when the kit is released in the summer, we shall have to wait and see.
