Hudson Odoi Delivers Update That Will Delight Chelsea Fans

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has confirmed that he expects to make his comeback from injury after the international break.

The 18-year-old suffered an Achilles injury in the 2-2 draw against Burnley in April and had surgery before undergoing extensive rehab over the past four and a half months. Speaking about his recovery, Hudson-Odoi says he can’t wait to get back playing in the first team:

“Recovery has gone really well and I feel good. Hopefully, I can be back after the international break. We have to just get things going and hopefully everything goes to plan.”

“I was scared it could take longer but really recovery has gone very well and I am really happy everything has gone to plan. Now I just can’t wait to get back on the pitch and start playing again.”

Despite optimism over signing a new deal, Hudson-Odoi’s current contract is still set to expire at the end of the season. It was claimed back in July that he had agreed to put pen to paper on a five-year deal, but there has still been no official confirmation.

The teenager may be waiting to see where he fits into Frank Lampard’s plans when he returns to full fitness, but considering the manager’s preference for playing younger players, he should have no concerns over playing time.
