Chelsea Starlet Gets PFA Fans Awards Nomination After Stellar Start To The Season

Many Chelsea fans were somewhat doubtful of the club’s chances this season given the high profile departure of Eden Hazard who served the Blues with so many high class performances that no-one could stand in the way of the Belgian’s wish to join Real Madrid.

With Mauricio Sarri leaving the Blues after the one season to go back to his native Italy to manage Juventus, the Chelsea manager’s role only looked to be heading in one direction.

Hence Frank Lampard was allowed to leave Derby County where he had almost got the club into the Premier League via the play-offs only losing out to Aston Villa in the final.

With the arrival of Lampard, coupled with the transfer ban imposed on Chelsea by FIFA it became clear that many of the youngsters at the club would be getting more of a chance under the new boss.

Head of that list comes Mason Mount who excelled under Lampard at Derby last season and has shown he has what it takes to play in the Premier League after impressive displays for Chelsea in August where he has already scored twice.

The #PFAFansAward have recognised the fine play of Mount by nominating him for player of the month for August. With Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi on the comeback trail from injuries they will be itching to get back to playing with Frank Lampard giving opportunities to players like Tammy Abraham and Emerson.

It might well be a pivotal season for Chelsea as some of their young talent finally get opportunities.
