Emerson Responds To Speculation That He May Leave Chelsea Amid Juventus Rumours

Chelsea fullback Emerson Palmieri has said he is happy to remain at Stamford Bridge despite speculation around his future.

Reports in Italy have suggested that Maurizio Sarri may look to take his fellow Italian to Juventus, but speaking whilst on international duty, the left-back confirmed he is happy to stay at the Blues:

“One day I would like to return to Serie A, I first arrived in Italy when I was very young and my family loves the country, but for now I am happy at Chelsea.”

Emerson became a more prominent figure in the first team as the season went on. Initially, the 24-year-old had to settle for runouts in cup competitions but the poor form of Marcos Alonso forced Sarri into selecting him on a more regular basis.

By the end of the season, the defender had firmly established himself as a first team regular, starting both legs of the Europa League semi-final against Frankfurt, as well as the final versus Arsenal last month.

Emerson signed for Chelsea in the January 2018 transfer window and has made 34 appearances in total since arriving in England.
