Chelsea winger Willian has confirmed that talks over a new contract have stalled and that there are no negotiations currently ongoing to keep him at Stamford Bridge.
The 31-year-old has once again emphasised that the reason behind the impasse comes down to the length of the contract which the Blues are offering:
“My negotiation for now is with Chelsea. There’s still nothing concrete from any team. And the situation with Chelsea is still that way. Chelsea offered me two, I demanded three, and it stopped there. There’s nothing much.”
A lot of fans on Twitter think it is the right time for Willian to leave the club:
Demanded 3. Is this the real life. Or does this guy think he’s Messi.

I don't think chelsea should renew him… as much as I believe he has been a great servant to the club in the 2010s..

Good luck bro…wish u all the best— alinomvo92 (@AnangAlain) 9 March 2020
Been a good servant to Chelsea but time to go. He should be grateful they offered two years, breaking their own one year rule for over thirties. Anyone who thinks we should be giving him two, nevermind three years needs to see a doctor.

Unfortunately we cannot offer 3, good luck for the rest of your career

It does appear that Willian’s time with Chelsea is coming to an end, but he may not be leaving the Premier League if reports are to be believed.
Manchester United and Arsenal are both said to be keeping tabs on the Brazilian’s situation while Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly keen on the player.
If Willian does depart in the summer, it will be the end of a seven-year stay at the club which has seen him win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup.
