The departures of Willian and Pedro to Arsenal and Roma respectively on free transfers has meant that the Blues have had holes to fill on both wings.

They already made one signing in Hakim Ziyech from Ajax earlier this year in order to reinforce the midfield, but Lampard has been keen to bring in even more options, and the London club have been focused on securing a sensational deal for Kai Havertz.

It is believed that a transfer is now very close, with Chelsea paying £72m up front and £18m in add-ons. Personal terms have already been agreed, with just a medical and some paperwork needed to be signed before the move is finalised.

The £47m addition of Timo Werner up front means the Blues have some formidable options heading into the new season, with supporters keen to see the new-look Chelsea in action.
