In defence, Lampard has already signed three reinforcements, including one of his main targets, Ben Chilwell who was snapped up from Leicester for £50m.
The Blues have also made two further additions on free transfers, bringing in the experienced Thiago Silva from Paris Saint-Germain, whilst also snapping up potential in Nice’s Malang Sarr, who is expected to be sent out on loan this season.
It has been reported that Lampard wants one more addition in defence, which is believed to be West Ham’s Declan Rice. The England international’s £75m price tag is proving problematic, though, and it is said that the club will need to sell players to finance a move for the 21-year-old.
Inter Milan are still interested in signing Emerson Palmieri, although the Nerazzurri are apparently unwilling to meet the €25m (£22m) asking price that Chelsea have set. N’Golo Kante has even been linked with a possible departure to link up once more with Antonio Conte, although it isn’t thought the Serie A club can afford his transfer fee.
