Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season will be seriously tested as they travel to Wembley to face Tottenham on Saturday evening.

Manager Maurizio Sarri has one major injury doubt heading into the match. Mateo Kovacic picked up a muscular problem whilst on international duty and played no part in Croatia’s 2-1 defeat to England on Sunday. Whether the midfielder will be fit to return against Spurs, it remains to be seen.

The Blues’ only other fitness concern is Ethan Ampadu, who picked up a knock while playing for Wales in the 2-1 defeat to Denmark on Friday night. The 18-year-old was the subject of a hefty challenge from Danish forward Kasper Dolberg.

Tottenham have a fair few injuries at the moment. Defender Jan Vertonghen is not expected to return to fitness until December following a hamstring injury. His regular centre-back partner Davinson Sanchez is also sidelined with the same issue. Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth are likely to continue to deputise in their absence.

Kieran Trippier didn’t play for England during the recent internationals because of a groin injury, and Serge Aurier is expected to replace him at right back. Danny Rose is closing in on a return to the first team following his own groin problem but Ben Davies is in line to keep his place in the starting eleven.

In midfield, Mousa Dembele has been ruled out for the rest of 2018 with an ankle injury, but Erik Lamela will be available after being substituted against Crystal Palace last time out due to a gash to the head.

The bookies think it will be a tightly fought contest. The best price for a Chelsea win is 13/8 with both Betfair and BetVictor. A draw is 5/2 at Coral, while a Tottenham victory is 9/5 at Unibet.
