Chelsea Turn Sights Towards 17 Year Old With 86M Release Clause After Losing Out On Endrick

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Athletico Paranaense striker Vitor Roque, according to Ge.Globo.com.

The Brazilian website claims the Blues have been scouting the 17-year-old over the last “few months” and may consider pursuing the player after losing out on Endrick to Real Madrid.

However, it is believed that Real are also tracking Roque, along with Paris Saint-Germain, with the French club having made contact with Athletico recently to enquire about the player.

The teenager does have a €100m (£86m) buyout clause, which is substantially higher than Endrick’s, but he is expected to be sold for below that fee.

Athletico are, though, unlikely to let him leave on the cheap. They only signed him in April and he is already well ahead of Endrick in terms of his development, having made 52 senior appearances and scored 13 goals so far.

If Chelsea do agree a deal to sign Roque, he will only be able to join the Blues after he turns 18 in February.
