Chelsea have officially announced the signing of 18-year-old Danilo Pantic from Partizan Belgrade.

The midfielder, who claims he can play almost anywhere across the middle of the park, has represented Serbia at youth level and helped his country reach the semi-finals of last summer’s European Under-19 Championship.

Pantic played for Partizan in last season’s Europa League, and looks to be an impressive signing by the Blues.

Pantic said on Chelsea’s official website:

“I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, the champions of the English Premier League, and I hope I can show my value at Vitesse in the coming season. I am honoured at the faith both clubs have shown in me.”

Pantic will join up with Dutch club Vitesse for the forthcoming campaign, and is set to become the fourth Chelsea player to link up with the side ahead of the new season.

Chelsea’s growing youth squad is a highly anticipated prospect for the future. The Blues certainly look like the side to contend with in the future already, with their youth sides seeming dominant compared to any other in Europe.

Their latest signing, whilst unknown, is another exciting addition. Let’s hope we see Pantic develop himself into the first-team picture in years to come!
