Chelsea Now ‘In Advanced Talks’ To Sign PSG Star As Club Close In On Fourth Summer Signing

Chelsea are now in “advanced talks” with Thiago Silva and his agent, according to The Athletic‘s Liam Twomey. The site’s Blues correspondent says there are still a few obstacles to overcome, including his contract length, but it looks as though things are progressing quickly.

Silva is reportedly demanding a two-year contract and at 35 years of age, Chelsea may well think twice before handing him such a deal. He is, however, available on a free transfer with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain coming to an end.

PSG face Bayern Munich in the Champions League final tomorrow night, and it is expected to be the Brazilian’s last game for the French club before departing after eight years at the Parc des Princes.

If the centre-back does sign on the dotted line, he could become Frank Lampard’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrival of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and most recently Xavier Mbyamba from Barcelona.
