Chelsea Now Confident About Signing La Liga Star After Submitting 42M Offer

Chelsea are growing in confidence that they can sign Jules Kounde, after tabling an opening bid for the Sevilla defender, according to journalist Nathan Gissing.

The reporter, who is a staff writer for Gianluca Di Marzio, claims that the Blues have submitted an offer worth €50m (£42m), plus add-ons:

As Gissing also mentions. Barcelona remain in the running for Kounde’s signature, but, Chelsea do look to be the firm favourites after reviving their interest in the France international.

Thomas Tuchel’s side got as far as agreeing personal terms with the centre-back last year, only for a deal to fall through due to issues over the transfer fee.

With Sevilla seemingly more open to selling Kounde for below his €80m (£68m) release clause, it is now hoped that negotiations will lead to a successful conclusion.

Chelsea’s transfer activity has ramped up after a slow start to the summer. In addition to Kounde, reports also suggest that the London club are keen to bring in Presnel Kimpembe from PSG.
