Chelsea duo N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva are involved in negotiations as the Blues try to land Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe, according to the Evening Standard.

The Frenchman is reluctant to leave PSG but Chelsea are now more optimistic that a deal will happen after the defender talked with Kante and Silva.

Kante is an international teammate of Kimpembe so he knows the player very well. As does Silva, who was his centre-back partner for many years before he left for Chelsea in 2020.

PSG are believed to be open to selling their player this summer, mainly due to the fact that negotiations over a new contract have stalled.

Although some reports have put Kimpembe’s valuation as high as €65m (£55m), there is a general feeling that a deal could be done for around €50m (£42.5m). Blues supporters will seemingly have Kante and Silva to thank, though, if the deal is finalised.
