Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is one of six nominees for the Premier League Save of the Month award for December.
The Serbian international tipped a point-blank header from Carlton Morris onto the bar during the 3-2 win over Luton Town last Saturday, helping the Blues secure a vital three points. Petrovic’s performances since taking over from the injured Robert Sanchez have won him many plaudits and fans on X are backing him to keep the No.1 shirt when the Spaniard returns:

Petrovic has taken his chance
Not much was known about the 24-year-old when he was first brought in from New England Revolution for £14m last summer. Manager Mauricio Pochettino didn’t seem particularly keen on the keeper initially as he didn’t even get a run out in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup, with Sanchez staying in goal.
However, after a rather inauspicious start in the 2-0 defeat to Everton, Petrovic has found his feet and many believe his all-round game is superior to Sanchez’s.
Who else has been nominated for the Save of the Month?
Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson, Everton’s Jordan Pickford, Sheffield United’s Wes Foderingham and Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario are also on the shortlist for December’s award.
If you want to vote for Petrovic, you can head over to the Premier League’s official site and make your choice here. Voting closes at 12 PM GMT on Monday 8th January.
