Chelsea Make Enquiry For 22M Rated Bundesliga Midfield Dynamo Who Has Said Drogba Is One Of His Idols

Chelsea have made an enquiry for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone, according to reports in Germany.

The Frenchman is expected to leave the Bundesliga club this summer, with Gladbach likely to demand more than €25m (£22m) for the player.

Kone has previously spoken out about being a fan of both Chelsea and Real Madrid as a child, with the likes of Didier Drogba and Cristiano Ronaldo being the two players he idolised:

“Real Madrid and Chelsea. Real because Cristiano Ronaldo played there. And Chelsea, because that’s where Didier Drogba was. Those were my idols!”

That will obviously help Chelsea’s chances of securing the 21-year-old’s signature, although it is believed that a move to Paris Saint-Germain could also tempt him.

The Ligue One champions have reportedly made their own approach for Kone and, with his family living in Paris, a return to his home city may be an opportunity too good to pass up.

As things stand, no formal bids have been tabled for the France Under 21 international but that could change at the end of the season.
