Chelsea Join Host Of Teams In Pursuit Of Prolific German International Midfielder

Chelsea are one of three clubs keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website reports that Tottenham and Bayern Munich are also keen on signing the 19-year-old.

Havertz, who has also been heavily linked with Arsenal, has been in superb form for Leverkusen this season despite his young age.

The attacking midfielder has hit the back of the net 12 times in all competitions, as well as providing six assists, in 29 appearances.

Havertz generally plays in a central role, although he is also capable of playing on the right-hand side.

The German international has been part of an offensive line that features the likes of Leon Bailey and Julian Brandt; all of whom are 22 years of age or under.

Leverkusen’s youthful attack has led the German club to fifth in the table, with Havertz having scored three goals in their last four league games; all of which have been wins.
