Chelsea ready to fend off Arsenal and Roma for signature of Bayer Leverkusen wonder kid

Chelsea are ready to step up their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey amidst interest form both Arsenal and Roma.

Bailey, 20, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga this summer after an impressive last season in Germany where he scored 12 goals and registered six assists in all competitions.

And Chelsea are now keen to land the youngster to replace the potentially outbound Willian.

Willian has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Barcelona bidding £70 million for the Brazilian last week.

The Catalan’s bid however was rejected, and they subsequently turned their attention to Willian’s countryman and Bordeaux star, Malcom, who completed a £27 million move to the Camp Nou earlier today.

Barca nabbed Malcom from under the noses of Serie A side AS Roma, who are now thought to turn their attention to Bailey as a replacement. Arsenal are also interested in the young Jamaican.

And Chelsea will now step up their chase of the Bayer Leverkusen winger to beat-off the competition.

The Sun report representatives from Chelsea and Leverkusen are set to hold talks next week over a potential summer switch to Stamford Bridge for Bailey.
