Chelsea Issued Hands Off Warning Amid Links To Italian Ace Who Starred In Win Over Belgium

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will not countenance bids for his captain Lorenzo Insigne this summer, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Barcelona have all been linked with the 30-year-old in recent weeks, with the winger having just one year left on his contract.

Insigne’s profile rose further on Friday when he scored the crucial second goal in Italy’s 2-1 win over Belgium, which secured their passage to the European Championship semi-finals.

Last week, the Italian was coy on his future, simply stating that he would speak to Napoli once his participation in the tournament comes to an end.

The Serie A club’s intention is clear, though; they want to renew Insigne’s contract, with De Laurentiis expected to hold talks with the player after the Euros.

Whether Chelsea will get involved, in terms of persuading him to make the switch to England, we shall have to wait and see, but he is not thought to be one of the Blues’ priority targets.
