Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah is back in full training after six months on the sidelines.
The 24-year-old suffered complications after picking up a hamstring injury in August, but he is now building up his match fitness.
Chalobah is available for selection, even if he isn’t ready to start games, so he could be named on the substitutes bench in upcoming fixtures.
Levi Colwill has also been suffering with a hamstring problem. The defender pulled up in the warm-up before the 0-0 draw against Villa at the end of last month. He has subsequently missed the Blues’ last four matches.
Chelsea’s medical team have confirmed that the 20-year-old has begun his “reconditioning phase” which means he is closing in on a return to full training.
Robert Sanchez is at the same point in his recovery as Colwill, having already taken part in “partial” team training. The keeper has not played since the defeat to Everton in December due to a knee injury.
Marc Cucurella is continuing to undergo rehabilitation after having surgery on his ankle. The left-back is not expected to be available before the end of this month.
Captain Reece James had an operation to fix a hamstring issue in December and his recovery time was estimated at three to four months.
No details have been provided on when Lesley Ugochukwu, (hamstring), Romeo Lavia (thigh) and Wesley Fofana (ACL) will be available again. The club continue to say that the trio are undergoing rehabilitation.
Fofana did, however, take to social media last week to state he is hoping to be back in contention relatively “soon”.
