Latest Chelsea Injury Report: Updates On Chalobah, Chukwuemeka, Broja And 4 Other Players

Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old was set to be back available after the international break, but it is now likely that he will be sidelined for a few more weeks. He has not played a single minute of first-team action this season.

Carney Chukwuemeka will also take longer than expected to make his comeback from a knee problem. The midfielder has been on the treatment table since sustaining the injury against West Ham back in August.

He was originally due to return this month but, like Chalobah, it looks as if the 20-year-old could be set for an extended spell out.

Armando Broja is currently unavailable due to his own knee injury. However, it’s not the same knee that kept him out for the best part of 10 months and it’s hoped that the striker won’t be sidelined for too long.

Updates on the fitness of 4 other Chelsea players

Romeo Lavia’s return from an ankle issue is likely to be delayed. The Belgian international was originally expected to be out for six weeks after sustaining the injury in mid-September.

However, earlier this month, manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed that Lavia had still not been able to start light training, so it may be well into November before we see the player pictured with his teammates at Cobham.

Ben Chilwell is set to be out for at least 2 months, after suffering another hamstring injury in the Carabao Cup victory against Brighton last month.

Christopher Nkunku has been seen working in the gym as he builds up his fitness following the knee problem he sustained in pre-season. The midfielder is likely to make his first-team comeback early in the New Year.

Wesley Fofana is not expected to play again this campaign, having sustained an ACL injury back in July.
