Chelsea Have ‘Held Talks’ With Agents Of 69M United Target As Pursuit Of Forward Takes New Twist

Chelsea have “held talks” with the representatives of Ajax winger Antony, according to 90min.com‘s Krishan Davis and Graeme Bailey.

The two journalists claim that the Blues did have a meeting with the Brazilian’s agents when they travelled to the UK recently. It appears the London club are weighing up possible alternatives to Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele:

Antony has been heavily linked with Manchester United over the past few weeks, with his former manager Erik ten Hag said to be very interested in bringing the player with him to Old Trafford.

However, Ajax are under no pressure to sell the 22-year-old. They have already sold Ryan Gravenberch to Bayern Munich this summer, while Sebastien Haller is also expected to join Borussia Dortmund.

A sky-high price tag has, therefore, been set for Antony with some reports suggesting that teams may have to pay as much as £69m to secure the winger’s services.
