Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to welcome new signing Kepa Arrizabalaga to Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old joined the Blues in a world, and club, record £71 million move from Athletic Bilbao yesterday, and will replace Thibaut Courtois as the club’s number one after he left for Real Madrid.
Kepa signed a seven-year deal at The Bridge believed to worth around £110,000 per week.
“So many things attracted me to the club – all the titles the club has won, the other players, the city, the English Premier League,” Kepa said following his move from Spain.
“It’s an accumulation of things, and I am very glad Chelsea has decided to trust me and to take me in as well.”
Kepa’s move to Chelsea sees the Spain number two become the world’s most expensive ever goalkeeper, surpassing the record set earlier this summer by Liverpool, who paid £66.8 million for Brazilian Alisson.
The Chelsea fans hope he will prove to be worth the money …
