Chelsea Eye Summer Deal For Ajax’s Champions League Hero As Potential Hazard Replacement

Chelsea are one of four Premier League teams scouting Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech, according to reports in Germany.

Arsenal, Everton and Leicester City are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old, while Bayern Munich are also very keen to snap up the winger.

Ziyech has been instrumental to Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-final. The Moroccan scored two goals against Real Madrid in the last 16 and provided the assist for Donny van de Beek’s equalising goal in the 2-1 win over Juventus on Tuesday night.

In all competitions, the midfielder has scored 19 goals and contributed 20 assists for Ajax this season, with his Champions League exploits combining with a successful domestic campaign. His side top the Eredivisie table on goal difference from PSV with four games to go.

Chelsea are likely considering Ziyech as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard, who could leave for Real Madrid this summer. Any deal for the Moroccan international will, of course, depend on FIFA lifting the London club’s transfer ban.
