Chelsea Are Only Prepared To Pay ‘Around 35M To 40M’ For World Cup Winner Despite 60M Price Tag

Chelsea will only offer “around £35m to £40m” for Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to The Athletic.

The Blues have identified the World Cup winner as their main alternative to Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez but it appears they are not willing to push the boat out to sign the 24-year-old.

Mac Allister is believed to be valued at around £60m by Brighton so it seems very unlikely that Graham Potter’s side will succeed if they do table a bid for the Argentinian international.

The midfielder has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United in recent days, with his father/agent having stated that a move during the January transfer window would be considered.

With a deal for Mac Allister seemingly out of reach, The Athletic say other players, including his teammate Moises Caicedo, Southampton’s Romeo Lavia and Ajax’s Edson Alvarez are being looked at, but Fernandez is the priority at the moment.
