Carragher Lavishes Praise On Chelsea Defender After Recovering From Difficult Start

Jamie Carragher has praised Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma for his form in recent weeks. The Frenchman had a poor start to the season but has recovered to form a formidable partnership with Fikayo Tomori.

The Sky Sports pundit thinks Zouma is now putting in the level of performances he showed last campaign, and he is also offering helpful guidance to his junior centre-back partner:

“He struggled at the start of the season but now looks like the player I watched at Everton last season – and it’s still a young partnership, him and Tomori. He’s shown good leadership to help his mate.”

Zouma and Tomori will certainly take some dislodging when the likes of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger return to fitness.

The Blues did concede two goals against Manchester United last time out, but considering one was a penalty and the other a freekick, they were not at fault for either goal.

Even so, the pair will definitely want to get more clean sheets in upcoming games. This evening’s match at Watford could be a good chance to get one with the Hornets having scored just once in five matches.
