Chelsea announced the signing of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund today. The American international will cost £58m.
However, as part of the agreement, the 20-year-old will be loaned back to Dortmund for the remainder of the season.
Fans are mostly happy with the club recruiting Pulisic:
I see him becoming an instant hit under Sarri

I’m really glad but still think both Hazard’s would be better.

He’s overrated

That’s the ambition we want to see. He’s a Chelsea player now so let’s get behind the lad!

Welcome to Chelsea, make sure he’s playing alongside Hazard and not as his replacement

Officially Christan Pulisic is a Chelsea player. WOW!
Welcome to #CFCFamily Pulisic. #CFC ?— Red Rose ?? (@Roseangel009) 2 January 2019
Others can’t understand why the winger isn’t joining the Blues straight away:
Could do with him now but Welcome to the best club in London ??
— CFC Daily (@CFCDaily) 2 January 2019
But why does he have to stay in Germany he must come now
— Zink1omo (@prisonschoolboy) 2 January 2019
Rather have him now instead of loaning him back to Dortmund for the rest of the season

It’s likely that Dortmund would only accept a deal in January if it was agreed he would stay until the summer. With Chelsea having to be mindful of a possible ban from transfers, the London club obviously wanted to make sure that the deal was signed now, even if they had to loan him back to meet Dortmund’s demands
£58m is, though, a hefty price for a player who has only recently turned 20. He does have some experience under his belt, having already played 115 matches of senior football, but many will be hoping to see him improve on his average of scoring every 7.5 games.
