Alan Shearer Praises Chelsea Ace Who Was The “Best Player” On The Pitch Against Burnley

Alan Shearer was full of praise for Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech after the Moroccan international made a telling impact on his first Premier League start at Turf Moor yesterday.

The 27-year-old opened the scoring for the Blues before providing the assist for Timo Werner to seal a comfortable 3-0 win against Burnley. Speaking after the match, Shearer said the winger was the standout performer for Frank Lampard’s side:

“I thought he was the best player for Chelsea today. He was creating, he was scoring, he was just a constant threat all afternoon.”

Ziyech was very impressive and, considering it was his full league debut, Chelsea fans should be very excited about what he can offer the team over the coming weeks and months.

We got a taste of what the playmaker could do during the 4-0 over Krasnodar on Wednesday but this was a step up in terms of the standard of opposition, and he was not found wanting.

Hopefully, Ziyech can keep up this level of performance going forward. Chelsea face Rennes during the week before playing Sheffield United at home next weekend.
