Agent Of Chelsea Target ‘In London This Week’ As Speculation Increases About 48M Transfer

The agent of Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries is “in London this week”, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

Writing in his column for GiveMeSport, Phillips claims that Chelsea are “keen” on signing the Netherlands international, with the club considering potential alternatives for the injured Reece James.

Reports in Italy have suggested that Inter could hold out for a fee in the region of €55m (£48m) to €60m (£53m) for Dumfries but this is believed to be way more than the Blues are willing to pay.

Graham Potter’s side are only looking to go as high as €35m (£31m), which means there is a sizeable difference between the two clubs in terms of their respective valuations.

That does then raise the question as to why Dumfries’ representative is in England. Manchester United and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in the Dutchman but neither have made the player a priority.

United will only sign a fullback if they offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka, which doesn’t seem likely considering his reemergence, while Spurs are reportedly focusing their attention on Sporting Lisbon’s Pedro Porro.
