Agent Issues Denial And Makes Claim About Chelsea Star’s Future

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has denied claims that a move to Juventus was ever a realistic possibility this summer. The Italian international was tipped to follow his manager Maurizio Sarri to the Bianconeri in the Italian press but he remained at Stamford Bridge.

When asked about the player’s future on Italian radio, Joao Santos said that the midfielder had no contract with Juve and is intending to stay at the Blues for the foreseeable future:

“No, nothing of the sort happened. We have mid-to-long-term project with Chelsea, similar to when he joined Hellas Verona and then Napoli. There are five years left on his contract and let’s say he’d like to stay for at least another four years.”

Jorginho has started every match under manager Frank Lampard so far this season and has been praised by the Chelsea boss for his talent and leadership skills.

The 27-year-old has been performing well while he has been on international duty as well, scoring a crucial winning penalty for Italy as they beat Finland 2-1 in a Euro 2020 qualifier on Sunday night.

With his international fixtures out of the way, Jorginho will have a full six days rest before Chelsea face Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
