Agent Denies Reports That Chelsea Star Is Italy Bound After ‘Summit’ Meeting

The agent of Emerson Palmieri has refuted claims that the Chelsea left-back has held talks over a possible switch to Juventus.

There were reports in Italy earlier this week that the Blues and the Serie A side were to hold an “imminent summit” over the 25-year-old’s future but Fernando Garcia says the player is not in a hurry to leave Stamford Bridge:

“Emerson is very happy at Chelsea, he gets along well with his teammates and coach. As of today, I have not had any contact with other clubs. It’s true that Juventus were interested when he was still playing for Roma, but that was the season before he moved to Chelsea.”

“As I said, he’s very happy at Chelsea and already in one of the biggest leagues in the world. Only God can say whether Emerson will return to play in Italy or not.”

With the transfer window only expected to open after the Premier League season is completed, Emerson will be part of Chelsea’s squad for the remainder of the campaign so Garcia would not be giving too much away even if he was on the move.

However, it appears that the fullback has been given no indication that he is surplus to requirements at Chelsea. Manager Frank Lampard has opted against using the Italian international in favour of Cesar Azpilicueta at times this season.

With speculation also linking the London club with a fair number of left-backs in recent months, it would also be fair to assume that one of Emerson and Marcos Alonso could be sold this summer.
