“A Concrete Possibility…” Romano Provides New Update On Future Of £130M Rated Chelsea Target

There is “a concrete possibility” that Chelsea target Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Nigerian international won’t be sold on the cheap, though, with Romano claiming that Napoli are hoping to “break” the Italian transfer record:

“There’s a possibility, a concrete possibility, for Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli. The feeling I have is that they want to break the record for the biggest sale in the history of the Serie A with Romelu Lukaku’s 120m euros to Chelsea. They want more than that to sell Victor Osimhen. This is the feeling around Napoli.”

“To mention clubs interested, Bayern for sure, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea. These four clubs have an interest in Osimhen but all of them are still waiting for Napoli to say ‘okay this is the price tag, you can come with your proposal’. This is why the process is still slow.”

Although Romano has emphasised that Napoli haven’t officially set an asking price for Osimhen yet, many other sources have claimed that the Serie A champions won’t accept less than €150m (£130m).

Considering Chelsea’s issues with Financial Fair Play, it would suggest that the striker may well be out of their reach, unless they are able to raise significant funds through player sales.

Bringing in a new forward has to be the number one priority for the Blues, though, and Osimhen is likely to be high on their list of options. Whether they can find a solution to finance the deal, we shall have to wait and see.
