Chelsea are one of four clubs who are circling Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to reports in Italy.
There has been intense speculation in recent days that the Argentinian international could leave the San Siro after being stripped of the captaincy.
Along with the Blues, Real Madrid, Napoli and Juventus are all said to be keeping a close eye on the player’s situation.
Fans on Twitter are not particularly confident that Chelsea will be able to sign Icardi:
Doubt we’d get him

Always scouting players for other clubs to buy

Why??? He's gonna be another flop ffs. Let's go for Jovic, Werner. Cheaper and not as toxic as Icardi

Am at a point where I see potential new signing and my mind goes "so. Is he the solution?"

Why do we live controversial players Icardi is just a poacher and way too expensive. I’m sure this is basic Chelsea strategy make moves and end up with dross

Some were more optimistic:

The 26-year-old is no doubt an excellent goalscorer. His 122 goals in 210 games for Inter demonstrates his lethal finishing in front of goal.
Icardi’s reported €110m (£95.5m) release clause would also tempt a few clubs but his off the field problems may put off some potential suitors.
His wife and agent Wanda Nara is notoriously hard to negotiate with, and the player’s own character has also been questioned by manager Luciano Spalletti.
Adding him to a dressing room at Chelsea full of different personalities would certainly be a risk.
