The Premier League outfit were trailing 3-2 on aggregate against PSG in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night when Ba stepped off the bench and scored at the death to send Chelsea through to the semis on away goals.

Mourinho has previously criticised his three forwards and does not believe he stands in good stead to win trophies due to a lack of ‘real strikers’ at the club. However, Ba has refuted such suggestions and believes the club boast three ‘great strikers’.

He also stated that he does not have any hidden agenda against Mourinho, but he just wants to give it all for his club. According to teamTALK, Ba revealed that he does not have any point to prove to Mourinho .

He said, “I’m not out for revenge. Maybe he [Mourinho] doesn’t have strikers to his liking, but I know that we have three great strikers and I think that a lot of clubs would like to have them.”

The 28-year-old is a boyhood PSG fan but was ecstatic after scoring the crucial goal against them which sealed Chelsea’s progress into the next round. He said, “I’m happy, I’m happy to have liberated us. I haven’t been given my chance much this season and I’ve taken it.”

He added, “It’s the first time I’ve wished PSG to lose and it’s me who scores the goal, luckily for Chelsea. I’m happy for Chelsea but it’s hard to see them lose, especially with one of my best friends, Yohan Cabaye, on the other side.”
