Zola Confirms Chelsea Are Monitoring £30m Rated Premier League Striker

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has revealed that the Blues are keen on recruiting Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson.

The London club have been linked with a £30m bid for the 26-year-old in recent weeks, and when asked about the player ahead of tomorrow’s Carabao Cup clash against the Cherries, Zola said:

“I am sure there are a lot of players that are linked with us. Certainly Callum Wilson is doing very well and is an interest not only for us but for many… He’s strong, fast and he sees the goal. I like him because he’s quick but also strong in the air, which is a very important quality.”

Wilson has scored eight goals for Bournemouth in the Premier League so far this season and was given his first England cap last month by Gareth Southgate.

The forward started the friendly against the USA, scoring on his debut to seal a 3-0 win for the hosts at Wembley.

With nine goals in all competitions this campaign, Wilson has already matched his highest total in the top flight. The in-form striker is seemingly being lined up by Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri as competition for Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata who haven’t convinced the Italian since his arrival in the summer.
