‘With Recent Form, He Doesn’t Deserve A New Contract’ ‘Wouldn’t Be As Big Of A Loss As Rudiger’ Fans Discuss Future Of Chelsea Star

Talks between Chelsea and Mason Mount over a new contract have reached a “stalemate”, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Negotiations have been ongoing since the summer but, as things stand, the player’s current deal will run down in just over eighteen months’ time:

Considering his recent performances for the Blues, the majority of supporters on Twitter don’t believe that Mount should be given a lucrative new contract anyway:

It is believed that Chelsea have put contingency plans in place if Mount does decide to leave Stamford Bridge. Both Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini and Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino have been scouted as possible replacements.

While there doesn’t appear to be much hope of a breakthrough at the moment, it would still be a shock if the England international departs the club, considering his close affiliation to the Blues. We shall have to wait and see how this story unfolds over the coming weeks and months.
