Chelsea are setting up a 20% increase in pay for Willian who is also expected to receive a contract extension. With his deal with the Blues set to expire in 2018, Abramovich is ready to start paying £100,000-a-week for the Brazilian who has been the only one getting Chelsea out of trouble for the past month or so. The 27-year-old is in incredible form and extra motivation like an increase in salary could only have a positive impact on his attitude. He is definitely worth it considering he has scored 5 times and provided 2 assists this season which is almost half of Chelsea’s Premier League goals. He saved the team a bunch of times and was the player who tried motivating the entire team.

Currently Willian is making almost half of what Falcao is making which is unacceptable. According to Metro, Chelsea will have to move fast as Bayern and PSG are looking to put together some offers at the end of the season. Giving the Brazilian a solid £100,000-a-week will put him in the top five best paid Chelsea players, that is if we exclude Falcao who is rumored to leave this winter. Willian will be the 5^th highest paid player after Hazard – £200,000, Costa – £185,000, Fabregas/Terry – £160,000, Courtois – £120,000. Based on what we have seen from the unfortunate and unlucky Falcao so far, no one will mind if some of that money comes from letting the Colombian striker return to Monaco who will have to take care of his large salary from then on.
