Willian In, Kepa Stays On The Bench: Chelsea’s Predicted Line Up To Face United

Although Manchester City’s Champions League ban does change things, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will not want to rely on a court ruling to ensure his team gets into Europe’s premier competition next season. A win against Manchester United will cement their top-four position in the table.

After making a massive call to leave out Kepa Arrizabalaga against Leicester, it’s unlikely that the Spaniard will be recalled straight away. Willy Caballero is, therefore, set to keep his place in goal.

After letting two goals in versus the Foxes, Lampard may opt to change things up at the back, so Fikayo Tomori could replace Andreas Christensen alongside Antonio Rudiger at centre-half. Reece James is expected to retain the right-back role, with Cesar Azpilicueta on the opposite flank.

The midfield is likely to stay the same as it was for the Leicester clash, with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mason Mount having established themselves as first choice.

There is more debate about the front three, though. Pedro started at the King Power, but was replaced by Willian in the second half. The Brazilian could well be recalled, with Callum Hudson-Odoi staying in the eleven, with Christian Pulisic still sidelined with a groin injury. Tammy Abraham will probably keep his place in the line-up.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Manchester United:

Caballero, James, Tomori, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Abraham, Willian
