Brazilian midfielder, Willian recently spoke about his journey towards becoming a team regular for Chelsea. Apparently the 26 year old has had to prove himself each and every day since moving from Anzhi. Willian who came to Stamford Bridge for £32million back in 2013 is still having to push himself in order to stay part of the first team. According to the Daily Mail, Willian feels he needs to put in so much effort every time that he feels like he is killing a lion. Apparently this is a popular expression in Brazil and it is used to underline the difficulties you need to conquer in order to prove yourself.

The Brazilian was under a lot of pressure after moving to London. He had to show everybody that he really deserved being signed for such a large amount of money and that his place is among the greats. Willian was supported not only by his family but also by Mourinho who put a lot of trust into the 26 year old.

Chelsea seem to have made a very successful investment when buying Willian. He is one of the most active and most efficient players in the squad. He looks determined each and every time and he seems to get better with every game. Even though he faces one of the best wingers in the world for a spot on Chelsea’s starting eleven, Willian has bested Schurrle most of the time.
