Willian Delivers The Win As Chelsea Beat Dynamo Kiev

Things are looking a bit better now for Chelsea as the knockout phases of the Champions League are getting closer and closer. Despite giving up their 1-0 lead to Dragovic’s 2nd half equaliser after the same player had given them the lead in the first half with an own goal, the Blues managed to come back to defeat Dynamo Kiev 2-1. Chelsea created a 2 point cushion between them and their direct adversaries in Group G with the win. Unfortunately Porto also won and remain 3 points ahead of the Blues.

After Dragovic’s 77th minute equaliser it took a bit of magic from Chelsea’s player of the season so far to secure the win. Enter Willian who scored with another sumptuous free-kick from outside the area in the 83rd minute sending Stamford Bridge crazy. It was the 5th free-kick goal of the season for the Brazilian winger and he is Chelsea’s leading scorer this season so it is clear how important he has become to the club with his impressive all around displays.

After the recent ridiculous suggestions in the British press of Jose Mourinho losing the dressing room and that an un-named player would rather lose than win for Mourinho it was again blatantly obvious that the whole team is still very much playing for their manager and that he has their total support. Support which was mirrored by the fans at Stamford Bridge last night who showed up with numerous scarves and banners bearing the name of the “Special One” and they also proceeded to sing and chant the name of their manager again and again throughout the night. On an evening where even the managers wife Matilde and daughter Matilde Jr came to support their husband/father it was clear that Jose Mourinho is very much still the man at Stamford Bridge. Talking about the fans later in the post-match press conference Jose said that the crowd “…showed great passion for the club…” and it clearly made a difference to the team and the manager. So bring on Stoke City and hopefully this talk of a Mourinho departure has been put to bed for good as he is the best manager Chelsea have ever had and he is the best manager to get the club back on form this season and he should be simply left to get on with it.
