The Blues are paying through the nose to loan the Spanish international for a season. The London club are believed to be paying his wages in full throughout his spell at Stamford Bridge.
After an awful debut against Aston Villa, Niguez has not made another appearance in the league so far, but it will be hoped he can improve on a poor start and justify the money that has been spent on him.
