Who Can Chelsea Buy Instead Of Falcao?

Who Can Chelsea Buy Instead Of Falcao?

After Falcao said goodbye to Old Trafford, rumors of his arrival at Stamford Bridge have started emerging. Apparently Mourinho looks interested in the Columbian who has been one of the biggest disappointments in the history of the Premier League. Leaving for Monaco was his first mistake and might have just cost him his career. After some decent performances in France, the nasty knee injury set him back, ruining his World Cup and hurt his chances in Manchester. The Premier League was definitely not the place for the Columbian to recover. He should have stayed in France until he got back on the horse and proved he is worth the enormous amount of many stipulated whenever transfer talks emerged.

According to Metro, Mourinho could be willing to give Falcao a hand and could also allow the striker to remind people that scoring almost every match while playing for Porto and Atletico was not a dream. But who should Mourinho consider before even thinking of spending £20m+ on what seems to be a player on the decline?

Here is a list of at least 10 names to consider before even thinking of spending anything on Falcao:

  1. Alexandre Lacazette – young scoring machine perfect for competing with Costa.
  2. Edinson Cavani – experienced and eager to redeem his position as a true number 9.
  3. Karim Benzema – one excellent striker who is incredibly useful as a team player
  4. Antoine Griezman – quick, versatile and ready to make the step up towards a major club
  5. Mauro Icardi – born to score, Argentinian prospect ready to move
  6. Gonzalo Higuain – incredible instinct in front of goal and extensive Champions League experience
  7. Christian Benteke – powerhouse with excellent intuition
  8. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – even for one season, he would be an incredible asset for the team
  9. Jackson Martinez – Europe’s scoring machine
  10. Edin Dzeko – highly efficient and very experienced when it comes to Premier League football.

With some heavy negotiation at least half of these players would come to Stamford Bridge for the money rumored to be required for transferring Falcao. Who would you consider bringing to West London before making a bid for the Columbian?
