Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga wasn’t the only player who performed well last night against Lille but he made a couple of telling contributions during the 2-1 win.
He saved well from Luiz Araujo in the first half, and also saved Fikayo Tomori‘s blushes late on to prevent the Ligue One side from getting a second equaliser. With the Blues playing a high line, he also had to make a number of clearances to prevent the home side getting in on goal.
Supporters on Twitter praised Kepa’s display following the match last night:
what a performance

While the Spanish international couldn’t have done much with Lille’s goal, it means he has only kept one clean sheet in all competitions so far this campaign.
Poor marking from set-pieces and injuries in defence have certainly played a role but Kepa will certainly be determined to keep a few more shutouts as the season wears on.
