Werner And Chilwell To Start, Abraham On The Bench: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Newcastle

Although Chelsea have yet to hit top gear, manager Thomas Tuchel will be pleased to get four consecutive wins under his belt as Blues boss.

Goals have been hard to come by so far and they will likely have to work hard once again to find openings when thy play Newcastle tomorrow night.

After fielding a rotated side for the victory against Barnsley in the FA Cup, Tuchel is expected to recall Edouard Mendy in goal, with a five-man defence likely to consist of Reece James, Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Ben Chilwell.

Marcos Alonso has been picked quite regularly in the left wingback role but, after starting at Oakwell during the week, he may have to settle for a place on the bench tomorrow.

In midfield, Tuchel is likely to reinstate Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic who have been his favoured pair in the middle of the park. Mason Mount could line up as the number 10.

Up front, Timo Werner may come back into the team, with Callum Hudson-Odoi taking up the other forward position. Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud could have roles as substitutes.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Play Newcastle:

Mendy, James, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Chilwell, Jorginho, Mount, Kovacic, Werner, Hudson-Odoi
