Chelsea have begun talks about signing AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer, according to reports in the UK.
The Italian international’s current deal expires in the summer and he is free to talk to clubs about signing a pre-contract agreement this month.
Despite having spent £22m on Edouard Mendy back in September, many supporters on Twitter believe that the Blues can’t pass up the opportunity to sign a goalkeeper like Donnarumma:

Whether there is any credibility behind these reports, we shall have to wait and see. Donnarumma’s agent is Mino Raiola and director Marina Granovskaia has had run-ins with the Dutchman in the past.
The goalkeeper’s salary and signing-on fee are also likely to be high but, at 21 years of age, they would be getting a player who could be the club’s number one for the next decade. It seems like a deal worth exploring at the very least.
