“We’ll See What Happens…” Highly Rated Chelsea Star Raises Doubts About His Future At The Club

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has revealed that he is considering his future at the club

The 20-year-old has had a successful loan spell at Brighton this campaign and, asked whether staying at the Amex was something he would be open to, Colwill replied:

“Brighton have done a lot for me. They put their trust in me when others didn’t and I’m a person that loves to repay that. We’ll see. I don’t know what is going to happen. I’m still here until the end of the season. I just focus on that, then I’ve got the [U21] Euros in the summer. After that, we’ll see what happens and go from there… I love the Brighton fans, I love everything about them. I’ll take that into consideration [when assessing my future.”

Reports have suggested that Chelsea are not open to selling Colwill, and it is believed that he will be part of the club’s first-team plans for next season.

However, the centre-back has two years left on his contract and it was expected that he would sign an extension to commit his long-term future to the Blues.

That hasn’t happened so far, and it appears Colwill may well be open to joining another team on a permanent basis, unless he gets some guarantees from incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino about his starting opportunities.

A number of Premier League teams are keeping tabs on Colwill

Both Liverpool and Manchester City are thought to be big fans of the England Under 21 International.

Considering Chelsea’s transfer stance, it would be a shock if they were willing to offload Colwill to a Premier League rival, but a lot does depend on the player’s willingness to remain at Stamford Bridge.
