‘We Don’t Need Finished Players Like Him’ ‘Shows Our Ambition’ Fans React As Romano Reveals Chelsea Turned Down Ex Spurs Star

Chelsea rejected the chance to sign Inter Milan attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen in the summer, according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano.

It is believed that the Nerazzurri were willing to part ways with the Danish international, despite only snapping him up from Tottenham last January, but fans on Twitter don’t think it was much of a loss losing out on the playmaker:

Considering that the Blues already have the likes of Kai Havertz and Mason Mount who can play in the number 10 role, it is not a surprise that the club turned down the opportunity to sign Eriksen. The club’s priorities lie in other areas of the pitch, with the focus in January likely to be on signing a holding midfielder like West Ham’s Declan Rice.

In any case, Eriksen’s form after leaving Spurs has dropped alarmingly. Since moving to Italy, the 28-year-old has scored just four goals and provided three assists in 28 appearances.
