Chelsea have until June 30th to make a decision on midfielder Mateo Kovacic’s future, according to reports.
The club’s transfer ban prevents the Blues from registering new players but as the Croatian is already at the club, they can make the loan move permanent or keep him for another year.
Real Madrid reportedly want €50m (£45m) for Kovacic and some fans on Twitter think that would be too much to justify keeping him:
No end product at all. We can live without him.

He really adds nothing-we should save our money

No thanks please. Not worth it tbh

Not worth the €50m RM are quoting us and only being quoted that because we wouldn’t accept him as part of the hazard deal yet Real have quoted inter €30m as he’s a back up option if Inter can’t get Barella not wort the €50m we r being quoted

Thank you Kovacic for your service last season and contribution in winning the EL trophy but we have lots of depth in our squad still including the academy boys. We have Kante, Jorginho, Bakayoko, Barkley, RLC, Mount, Van Ginkel not to mention Luiz can play midfield too.

Let him go

However, other supporters believe he should remain at Stamford Bridge:
Sign him already

Sign him.

If the price is right , I say go for him. Gives us good depth and is actually a quality player as a pivot. I would hate for us to pay a high fee for him tho

We must sign him. We would be naive to just fill our whole squad with youth instead of mixing them with experienced players.

A lot will depend on Frank Lampard. The Derby boss is said to be close to being appointed manager at Chelsea, and he could have the final say on the 25-year-old’s future.
Former head coach Maurizio Sarri wanted Kovacic to stay, while the player is believed to be keen on remaining in London, but Lampard may have other plans.
If the Croatian international is allowed to leave, it is believed that former club Inter Milan could be his destination.
